State-of-the-Art Equipment
State-of-the-art agronomic equipment greatly enhances
the effectiveness and timeliness of agronomic services.
At Landmark Agronomy, we employ an aggressive maintenance program to minimize downtime within our application fleet and utilize an equipment replacement program to bring cutting-edge technology to your fields.
Multi-Purpose Applications--Landmark
Agronomy continues to add multi-purpose application equipment to
its fleet. In the past, agriculture retailers owned three basic machines--one
to spread dry fertilizer, one to spray pre-emergence applications
and one to do post-emergence work. Today, we utilize machines with
the capability of doing two or three operations. This decreases our
overhead, which in turn, gives us the ability to invest in equipment
with a higher level of technology that improves our productivity
on your land and gives you more for your application dollar. In recent
years, we've invested in Global Positioning System Variable Rate
Technology (GPS VRT) application of plant food and lime, GPS parallel
swathing, GPS auto-steer guidance and virtual reality site guidance.
GPS Auto-Steer Technology--Landmark Agronomy is rapidly adapting GPS auto-steer guidance across its application fleet. This recent high-tech development allows improved application accuracy, more timely application and improved productivity. Auto-steer ensures you receive a high-quality application and provides you with the assurance that the product has been placed where it is supposed to be, maximizing the results of the inputs you've purchased. GPS auto-steer also helps maintain accuracy with the next generation of wider boom widths and decreases field compaction through less tracking.
Soilection ™ Technology--Landmark
Agronomy was among the first to offer variable rate, GPS-guided application
of multiple products in one pass. Our Soilection units mix on the
go to save time, air-deliver products to improve accuracy and take
fewer trips across the field to reduce compaction. We have several
Soilection units placed throughout our market area.
Direct Chemical Injection--Landmark Agronomy sprayers have the capacity to inject herbicides directly into the spray solution, increasing productivity and allowing for more timely applications.
Virtual Site Guidance--A dramatic improvement over conventional light bar technology, virtual site guidance creates a three-dimensional picture of the field, giving the operator better visualization of where the machine needs to be in the field and where it has been. This feature, incorporated into much of Landmark Agronomy's equipment, makes more accurate application possible by preventing over- and under-application of inputs.
Root Zone Banding (RZB)--For decades,
we've known the advantages of placing Nitrogen (N), Phosphorus (P)
and Potassium (K) in a concentrated band. To speed planting operations
and reduce workload, however, growers have moved to larger planting
equipment that eliminates the banding portion of the planting process
in most cases. Today's RZB technology allows Landmark Agronomy to
apply and deep-place nutrients at variable or straight rates in a
band to maximize plant uptake. Benefits of RZB include reduction
of surface runoff of plant nutrients, an increase in nutrient availability,
placement of nutrients where moisture is available, better residue
management, better nutrient stratification and better return on input
cost. RZB can boost your revenue by $20-$50 per acre and may help
you comply with conservation environmental requirements.
