Risk Management

Grain – Risk Management

Every year, farmers take on many challenges—crop yield, a volatile commodities market, and personal financial risks. At the top of every farmer’s mind is the price of their crop and the risk of the market price declining below the point of profitability.

To better manage their risk, farmers must strike a balance between achieving a suitable profit level and preserving marketing opportunity.

Our approach to managing your risk and sustaining your profitability starts with understanding your goals, then working with you to develop a comprehensive marketing plan that fits your financial needs and minimizes exposure.

This plan encompasses all aspects of your farm operations, this includes:

• Total Acres

• Cost of Production

• Cash Flow Needs

• Storage Facilities

• Other critical areas

With increasing demand for flexibility and speed, we’ve invested in state-of-the-art technology at all of our grain facilities. Our ongoing investments improve our grain handling, grain quality management, efficiencies, and safety, while increasing our overall storage capacity.

Since 2018, we have increased our capacity to over two million bushels by implementing cost-effective bunkers with four-foot galvanized walls anchored to the ground, and aeration systems to maintain the best grain quality and ensure efficient operation.

An Extron grain monitoring system monitors wind speed, grain temperature, humidity, and other factors required to maintain the grain. This will allow for significant cost savings over piles that have aeration fans running 24/7.

We installed a high-capacity, 25,000 bushel per hour LeMar transport conveyor to unload your grain safely and efficiently. The fail-safe hydraulic system, directional grain diverter, height adjustability, and hydraulic ramps and drive wheels allow for easy movement of the conveyor to the next position. The 15-foot drive-over receiving ramps mean you don’t have to wait for the truck in front of you to move ahead before you can start unloading.

We’re proud to be an extension of your operation and provide you more effective and efficient storage at harvest so you can get back to your fields.
